Payo, Philippine Daily Inquirer  NHA TRANG—Jay Alejandro exploded with 34 points as Energen Pilipinas Under-16 stunned Japan, 83-72 , to nail the No. 1 spot in its second-round group in the Fiba Asia U16 tournament Monday night at the Khanh Hoa Sports Center here in Vietnam.Alejandro, a Mapua high standout, started his phenomenal show by dropping 19 points in the first half as the Philippines staged a rampant second-quarter run for a 48-36 halftime lead.  |
